The Encased
Coins
Bryan G. Ryker,
of Fort Wayne, Indiana is the designer of all of our encased coins. His
extended knowledge of the history and design of encased coins is reflected in
the design of these beautiful pieces. Mr. Ryker is the author of Frederick
Earl Fankhauser "The Penny Man"
While all our
pieces are designed by Mr. Ryker, the first officially to be signed by him on
the piece is our COLORS encased set. Mr. Ryker has given particular attention
to creating pieces that are unique and interesting. Examples of this are the
creation of the COLORS set, the only known encased issued in six different
colors and the last to be produced by Mintage Masters, and the Pippity-Poppity
Popcorn Encased, issued in a limited edition and featuring the first buffalo
nickel encased in fifty years as well as its companion issued utilizing Indian
Head pennies. He has also incorporated artwork into the encasement for further
interest. His future designs will include the use of special artwork and a
variety of coins, both domestic and international. More recent encased coins
have been minted by
Penny Press Mint.
Encased Collectors International
is a numismatic club for the purpose of advancing the knowledge and hobby of
encased coin collecting. It is dedicated to the promotion, discussion and
dissemination of information and ideas about encased coinage, both domestic
and world-wide and to exist as a medium to bring collectors together in a
friendly, professional and relaxed atmosphere where they have an opportunity
to exchange information, display photos and engage in lively conversation.
